It was another great day out on the water with Thomas and his boys. April is prime time for striped bass fishing on Lake Lanier, and the conditions couldn't have been better day to spend the day chasing some big fish. We met up at the boat ramp and got the gear ready for an exciting 4-hour private fishing trip with No Excuses Striper Fishing.As soon as we hit the lake, we started working different techniques to find the striper bite. The boys were eager to get their lines in the water, so we started off pulling planer boards. It didn't take long before Thomas' son hooked into a nice Striped bass that put up a great fight. That did the trick, and before long, we had another few Striped bass in the boat.The fish were active and aggressive, and we had a blast watching the boys reel them in. Even when the bite slowed down a bit, we kept moving around, trying different spots and presentations until we found them again. Also trolling Capt Macks Mini Mack is working also. I troll them at 1.1to 1.5 mph with my trolling motor about 80 ft behind the boat which puts your rig about 20 ft deep.&nbsp; The striper pre-spawn is fast approaching so I throw in a nice fat gizzard shad on a planer float about 100ft behind the boat.
